Come join us!<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

All residents of Byron Shire are automatically a part of the Byron de jure Assembly. However, if you would like to come and join us to get to work building the Assembly and serving the people of the Byron Shire, please complete the application form below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may join the office of a committee in the Assembly if you have been a resident of the Byron Shire for at least six months, are at least 18 years of age, and have attended at least 3 of the Assembly\u2019s public meetings.  Volunteering is a pathway to taking on a more formal role within a Committee of the Assembly or an Officer position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All members joining are required to sign and abide by the Resolution of One Accord<\/a>.\u00a0 It forms part of the membership application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please note: If you would like to create a restoration project you do not need to formally apply to be a member of a committee or an officeholder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Membership Process<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Step 1:<\/strong> Check you are aligned with the Resolution of One Accord and the Declaration of Independence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 2:<\/strong> Understand the following Assembly documents, as you will be asked to agree to these later in the membership process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 3:<\/strong> Complete the Membership Application Form<\/strong> at the end of this page. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 4:<\/strong> Once you have filled and submitted the Membership Application Form, The Assembly\u2019s On-boarding Team will contact you by email to meet personally to discuss suitability and fit. This is where you can tell us what you are passionate about doing, and we can assist you with any questions you may have. We will have some questions for you, and you will also be asked to show some form of photo ID and evidence of residing in the Byron Shire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 5:<\/strong> The Assembly\u2019s Council reviews your application and you will be notified of the outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 6:<\/strong> New members will be assigned to a committee with availability and with their consent.  You will be invited to attend meetings, get familiar with the internal workings of the assembly, and start contributing to the work of the assembly.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
